This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under supervision of a senior officer. Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable Remuneration: Salary and Benefits are those attached to KNRA Grade 6 For appointment to this grade an officer must have: – i. Bachelor’s Degree in the any of the following disciplines: – Physics, Chemistry, Forensic Science, Instrumentation and Control, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Science with a bias in Atomic or Radiation Science or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; ii. Demonstrable computer literacy, and iii. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution. Duties and Responsibilities i. Compiling and uploading data into the national dose register for occupationally exposed personnel; ii. Creating and maintaining a log of radiation detection equipment and instrumentation; iii. Keeping records of radiation sources, dose exposures, and unusual occurrences; iv. Receiving and documenting samples for forensic analysis; v. Sampling, analyzing, and maintaining inventory of radioactivity of all radioactive or potentially radioactive source terms onsite and offsite of a facility; vi. Conducting personal dosimetry; and vii. Installing, operating and adjusting radiation detection equipment and instrumentation. |
