Lieutenant Colonel Grace Ajierh is an officer in the Ministry of Defence and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, with over 15 years of experience in legal practice, defence administration, and national security matters.
She has served in various legal and administrative capacities within the Ministry of Defence since 2011, including as a legal adviser. She currently serves as the Head of Litigation at Defence Headquarters and as a Special State Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General, a position she has held since 2022. In these capacities, she specializes in civil and criminal law and provides legal advice, representation, and strategic counsel in litigation and arbitration matters involving the Ministry and the wider defence sector.
Among her notable assignments, Lieutenant Colonel Ajierh served as the Corporation Secretary of the Kenya Meat Commission during its transition and takeover under the Ministry of Defence. She has also represented the Ministry in a range of legal and institutional matters, drawing on her expertise in litigation, governance, defence, and security.
She is a member of the National Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Committee and the National STC Committee. Through these roles, she has contributed to national efforts relating to chemical and biological weapons control, strategic trade, non-proliferation, and security.
Lieutenant Colonel Ajierh holds a Master of Science in Governance, Peace and Security Studies from African Nazarene University; a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Trade Management from the University of Georgia, USA; a Postgraduate Diploma in Defence and Security Studies from the National Defence University; and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Nairobi. She is also a Certified Secretary and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
She has undertaken specialized training in Chemical and Biological Weapons and CBRN-related matters, further strengthening her expertise at the intersection of law, defence, security, and national policy.
