Mary Nyokabi Kamau is a lead consultant in Environmental and Waste Management with National Environment Management Authority and the founder of Green Health and Safe Environs Limited that has been in operation since 2010. She has been an Independent Board Member at Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority for a year running. Mary was born in 1982 in Olkalau, Nyandarua County.
She has over 14 years’ experience in public health, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments and Audits, waste management across different sectors, monitoring and evaluation and green energy. Mary is a graduate of Bachelor of Science Environmental Health and currently Ongoing Master of Science (Occupational Safety and Health) at JKUAT. She also undertook trainings in Sustainable Solid Waste Management For African Countries (A) from JICA-Yokohama City, Japan and Strategic Environmental Assessment from ChromAfrica.
Over the years she has amassed wealth of knowledge in both socioeconomic and environmental impact assessments of proposed projects, environmental auditing, monitoring and evaluation skills, reporting, green energy, sustainable waste management, occupational health and safety trainings and risk assessment. Her interest in asbestos and hazardous waste management has earned her a name “Asbestos expert” within her circles.
